| Hiking the inca trail (camino inca) to the sacred ruins of Machu Picchu, the lost city of the incas, is a must do when you travel in Peru. When I was in South America travelers could still do the wonderful inca trail by themselves. So, I packed my stuff, catched the train, and embarked on a travel adventure that would be remembered forever. You may have missed my story "The Machu Picchu Fire Disaster". It recounts what happened during those 4 days and I've posted unique pictures, believe me, I took while I was there. One day I'll see Machu Picchu for real... Best wishes, Mark

| Hi lowcostvolunteer, Volunteer Latin America is a wonderful resource for those interested in volunteer work in Peru and other countries in South America. Can you give some more details about this project? Best wishes, Mark

| hi mark, travelling to s america in nov and hiking the inca trail at start of dec just heard that the weather can be really bad there at that time of year with a lot of cloud cover obscuring the views just wondering has anyone been there at that time o year and the weather they experienced! |

| Hi deec, The rainy season in Machu Picchu lasts from December to March. The weather is very unpredictable so you may still have the time of your life when you go to The Lost City of the Incas. Just try to go as soon as possible. Keep us posted about your trip! Best wishes, Mark
