Traveling Ecuador

I am looking to travel Ecuador and looking into using one of the tours on this site-but I did see the part about traveling the islands on a cheap..Can someone give me a few more ideas on this. This is what I would love to do, but have a limited budget and time.
Also any advice I can recieve on here would be great. I have traveled to Europe but only a couple times and never to South America. What would be my top spots in Ecuador or should I start with a diffrent country.

Hi Robin,

Are you referring to the Galapagos Islands? If so, it is possible to travel to the islands on your own. It's quite simple. You book a flight from the coast town of Guayaquil to the Galapagos Islands. It is about $400 for a return ticket. 0nce you are in Puerto Ayora on the Galapagos Islands you start shopping for a boat (I paid $50 a day). You will pay half the price of the agencies in Quito. You will need time to do this.

Ecuador is a very beautiful country and is an excellent destination for a first trip to South America.

If I'm not mistaken there are some cruise travel in Galapagos right?
